Sockers blank Sahuaros 4-0 in exhibition

MIDLAND — With just a week of practice under their belts as a team, Midland/Odessa Sockers FC went out and played a solid 90 minutes to earn a 4-0 win in an exhibition match against the Arizona Sahuaros at Grande Communications Stadium on Saturday night.
The Sockers got on the board right away in the second minute as midfielder Nenad Markovic sprinted into the box, took a pass from defender Angelo Rosales-Kelly and found the back of the net for the first goal of the night.
For the remainder of the first half, the Sockers maintained possession throughout their half of the field as they tallied seven shots and four corner kicks.
The second half started off similar to the first as the Sockers struck in the 49th minute on a goal by Murilo Ceruli that was assisted by Yahya Saeed.
Two more unassisted goals were added late in the match as Randolph Tamba scored in the 72nd minute and Bruno Henrique capped off the scoring in the 80th minute.
