Sometimes it’s just not your night. That was the case Thursday night as the Sockers fell to the Denton Diablos 4-0 at Grande Communications Stadium.

The Sockers suffered its first defeat of the season in Lonestar Conference play.

An early Sockers own goal in the 5th minute set the tone for the evening and the Sockers could not recover.

The match went into halftime with Denton leading 2-0.

The Sockers started the second half applying pressure, but could not capitalize.

Momentum was quickly stopped when Sockers FC conceded a penalty in the 54th minute.

Wyatt Priest would slot home from the spot to make it 3-0 Diablos.

Martin Salas would make it 4-0 Denton in the 65th minute to cap the scoring.

The Sockers will look to bounce back on Saturday against the Fort Worth Vaqueros.
